The god of good and justice, Athar has been a leader of the gods since their revolt against Terra. While most gods no longer follow his lead, they all respect him for leading the insurrection. He has become the patron god of the Karathians and has had a hand in the development of all the races.
His followers are called to spread freedom and honor throughout the world, and to defend those who cannot defend themselves. They are also taught to uphold justice and promote good in people everywhere.
Shrines and temples of the god are found throughout Karath, generally in churches under dominion of the Church of Karath. In some regions, shrines to Athar are only allowed within sanctioned Churches. Athar is also worshipped in some of the mixed temples of the Fir’bolg, dwarves, and elves.
In most of Anrak, any items or symbols dedicated to Athar are considered blasphemous, and possession or worship of such may be punished by death.

“Athar is a weak god who allows evil to sprout and grow in his shadow. He does not see the dangers this world faces and will not raise his hand to fight them. He is a coward and so are his followers.” ~Forthai Crushbringer, hobgoblin enforcer of Anrakhas
